Confirmation:
Confirmation continues the Christian path begun at baptism, enriching Christians by the gift of the Holy Spirit and binding them more perfectly to the Church. The recipient receives the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit [Isaiah 11:2-3] and on occasion may receive one or more of the charismatic gifts of the Spirit [1 Corinthians 12:7-11]. The ecclesial effect and sacramental grace of the sacrament give the recipient the strength and character to witness for Jesus Christ.
Parish children in grade eight celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation. They are to have been involved in continued formation from the time of their First Communion.
Adults seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation attend preparation sessions in the Spring and may sign up to attend these sessions by calling the Faith Formation Office at 322-3077. Adults then celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation on Pentecost Sunday at the Cathedral of the Holy Angels.
