Mona became a parishioner of St. Michael Parish when she and her family moved to the Schererville area in 1987. In 2002, she joined the staff of St. Michael Parish as a part-time employee and serves as:

During her tenure, the bulletin expanded from 8 to its current 14 pages. Our involved and active parish community more than fill these additional pages.

Computer data entry, including weekly entry of Sunday contributions

Every time Mona enters contributions, she offers this little prayer, “Thank you God for providing us with abundance, and thank you for these loving people who share their abundance.”

Member of St. Michael Website Team

First, Tom Swanson (our parish Finance Director and all-around guru) brought the parish out of the technological dark ages and into the light, and then he spearheaded the development of a parish website. Mona is a member of the team established by Tom to develop and maintain this website.

Director of the Children’s RCIA Process (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, with Adaptation for Children)

In 1997, Mona was asked to be the sponsor for two sisters whose family had recently moved to the Schererville area and had joined St. Michael Parish. Mona agreed to share her faith experiences by becoming their sponsor and has been hooked (as in “life altering” and “faith-enhancing”) on the RCIA Process ever since.
