Right To Life Group
Our organization was started at St. Michael Parish in the year 2000.
We meet on the second Saturday of every month. We begin with praying the rosary at 7:30 AM, followed by celebrating the Mass at 8:00 AM and praying for the intentions of LIFE. Our meeting commences after Mass.
Our mission statement is, “Respect life from conception until natural death.” (Pope John Paul II) - especially for the most innocent and vulnerable.
Members of our ministry are involved in many activities, including collecting baby clothes, maternity clothes, furniture and other items for pregnancy help centers - such as Birth Right and the Answer - and for anyone who is in need. In October we hold an Annual Baby Shower for expectant moms in need. We also help Lake County Right to Life with their Annual Rose Sale. A Christmas tradition is to visit a local nursing home with songs and gifts. In the Spring, we help with the Annual Lake County Right to Life Banquet. We pass out life literature and balloons at our parish’s Fun Fest. Various life-supporting groups benefit from our Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Card Sale. We inform parishioners of legislative actions concerning life and ask that they get involved by calling or e-mailing their representatives.
More future endeavors
In the future, we hope to erect a Right to Life Cross on our parish grounds. We would like to coordinate efforts with the school in making information available to help educate students on the sanctity of life and the practice of pre-marital chastity.
We would like to assist other parishes in forming Right to Life Groups in their parishes. Most especially, we hope and pray for an end to abortion. May God bless our efforts!
